If you own a Wordpress blog (whether it’s at Wordpress.com or self-hosted like iO Gaming) and an Android device, then your blogging world has officially gone mobile. The folks over at Automattic, the creators of Wordpress, have just released an app for Android users over at the new Android For Wordpress blog. Bloggers who own an iPhone or Blackberry have already been introduced to a native Wordpress application for their devices quite some time ago, but what makes the Android-version unique is the origination of the source code.
Users of the third-party app wpToGo should feel right at home with the official Android Wordpress program, because the developer of wpToGo, Dan, has worked directly with Automattic on the project. This has prompted the announcement on the discontinuation of wpToGo development, for obvious reasons. He will continue working with the great developers at Wordpress to bring updates to the Android-version.
Some of the 1.0 features include the ability to upload photos, save and publish drafts from the phone, view comments for posts, and receive notifications of new comments! This is just the beginning, with many more useful features and options in the works.
P.S.: If you are always itching for the latest software, like I am, then you can apply to become a beta test here.

I know Waffles was practically singing in vent because of this.
