    This section still active?

Been considering getting back into GW now for a while but was curious if this section was still active to find some gamers...I'd be starting from scratch.

    Re: This section still active?

The iO guild is small and not very active unfortunately, but I think this is understandable as the game has been out for some time. Guild Wars 2 is due next year as well, so some players are holding off until that becomes available. Sadly this means that if you're looking to go on missions with lots of iO guild members you'll probably be out of luck. If however you just need a quiet home so that you won't be bothered by recruiters, or so that you can just do the last missions you need to do before Guild Wars 2 comes out, then let me know and I'll be happy to invite you. I realise this isn't pushing the guild hard, but I'd rather be honest and not misrepresent the guild, which would probably annoy you when you found out it's not as advertised.

If you decide to join and need some help getting started again, I can always give you a few things that might help, so long as we can sync up our respective schedules. I live in England so the time difference can get in the way.

Whatever you decide you want to do, thanks for your interest, partly as it will hopefully make starting a new guild in Guild Wars 2 easier.

Good to know you're still around.

I haven't seen any new info on Guild Wars 2 lately, which makes me wonder if it's going to be released no earlier than summer. We'll see, I suppose. I know if I worked for Arena that I'd be twitchy releasing it in Spring alongside Portal 2 and Dragon Age 2.

Nah, those are different games than GW2. Plus with Dragon Age, we've already played it. Bio Ware games are all rehashed stories and ideas.

When God gives you lemons, you had better use them for the purpose in which God intended. Because if you don't, you will be fined, stoned, sacked and excommunicated by your local religious affiliation accordingly.

    Re: This section still active?

I meant in terms of multiple high profile games being released close together.

With regards to story-telling, I'm not sure how Guild Wars 2 with it's storyline of 'Ancient evil risen to the surface' is more advanced than the Dragon Age: Origins storyline of 'Ancient evil risen to the surface'.

Yes, Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be taking a fresh look at conventions of the form, but then Dragon Age 2 is doing something different in that it's telling a ten year story using a framed narrative. Bioware also do great characterisation.

    Re: This section still active?

    Thanks for posting, Puxel.

Unfortunately there aren't many Guild Wars players here at the moment. Some have drifted away, either from Guild Wars, iO, or both. Others are really waiting for Guild Wars 2, which is due some time next year. I think it's only Sux and I who are playing and have iO guild characters.

On the plus side, when Guild Wars 2 comes out I think you'll see more activity, and it'll be an opportunity for us all to learn the game together. That said, if you install the game, let me know, and I can send you an iO guild invite. I'd then be able to give you an in-game starter pack, just a little something to get you off to a quicker start. Guild raids would appear to be unavailable though as we don't have enough active players I'm afraid.

Let me know what you think, but don't worry, I won't be offended if you decide not to install. With the sequel so (relatively) close at hand I'd understand.
