iO LAN - Airport to LAN center transportation

Since the LAN is this week. (hehe, fun to say.) Where was I? Oh yes, for the first official iO LAN, which is being held THIS WEEK, I thought a run down of who is coming in on what flight to what airport and still needs a ride/would like one would be helpful.

A few of us have mentioned we'll be able to pick people up at certain times so if you need a ride, please post your flight time and the airport name (assuming people may be coming into other airports...) so we can get an idea of who can get a ride when.

If you see someone that needs a ride and can pick them up, please post here quoting their post so we know who is with who.

For starters, I have no idea who I said I would be able to pick up but I'm sure you're going to see this post! I'm meeting Nick at the LAN center between 12 and 1 so I need to know your flight info. I should have room for one more person if they're coming in around the same time.

This is also only from the airport to the LAN center! I'm heading straight home right after the LAN Saturday into Sunday.

Ok... So I don't have to pick anyone up from the airport? This makes my life easier!

I'm surprised no one posted about needing a ride yet. It's not like the LAN is 2 days away or anything!

I might need a ride to the LAN center from the Greyhound bus station.

If you post exact place and time it would be easier to determine if someone can pick you up.

Re: iO LAN - Airport to LAN center transportation

I could use a ride if someone can come by the airport!

Flying into Phili International, Friday 7/30 at 12:47pm, US Air 1093...

Leaving Sun 8/1 at 3:40, US Air 1096...

I just found out this info since I was trying to work it out with my job schedule. Would appreciate it if I could get a ride. Send me a message or reply here.

Looking forward to meeting everyone! (not looking forward to man thongs, though, yuck)

Damn....that's a long drive from Philly airport to the LAN. Couldn't you fly in to Lehigh Valley International Airport? I'm really not sure if anyone will be down in that area. Philly airport is about 70 miles from Allentown.

If no one can pick you up you have two options. First is to rent a car which is pretty easy to do. I checked prices and if you get a cheap car from avis it would run you about $75. The other option would be to take a SEPTA bus from the airport to 30th street in Philadelphia. From there you can get another bus (Bieber Bus) to Allentown. A round trip ticket on Bieber costs about $25, however you said that your flight does not get in until 12:47pm. In that case then the next available Bieber bus to allentown wont leave 30th street until 4:30pm.

I've included some links to SEPTA and Bieber for you:

70-minutes is quite a trip just for one person, unless someone driving up goes through there.

If you absolutely can't change it to Lehigh, then it sounds like renting a car would be your best bet.

Just-in-case, though, let's see where PainPig's going, and what time he'll be going through.

It would be more than 70 minutes. With light traffic it would probably take 90 minutes. The traffic might be a bit heavy though because they are doing construction on one of the highways you need to take.

PainPig might have already left. He did mention that he planned on getting to Allentown really early in the morning, like around 8am. It's a long drive for him...

Sorry about the lack of info about what time I'm coming in.

I'll be at the Allentown, PA Greyhound station at roughly....6:50 PM.

The greyhound station is not too far from the LAN. It's on the same road (Hamilton Blvd) about 3-4 miles away. Check your pms. I sent you my cell. Call me when you get to the station and we'll make sure that someone picks you up.
