Huh. Is it your IT blocking it? If so, have you tried to see why they do and if they can open it?

Hey, it was me who was trying to get it to work. I think it's the Uni network which won't allow it ...! Grrr! Nevermind.

Vent ip is not working for me: keeps trying to find last known ip address

    edit: Error message:

Connected to server but unable to authenticate your login name and password. Make sure you entered the correct global server password or the password for your unique login name. You will be automatically banned if you try connecting with the wrong password several more times, so be sure you have the correct password before you try again. Passwords are case sensitive and must be completely retyped if you are making a change to it. The password will always be displayed as 8 (*'s or dots) even if the actual length of the password is shorter or longer then 8. You should also verify that you entered the correct IP address (or hostname) and Port number. If the port number is wrong you are connecting to the wrong server.

I can hear the click when I try to talk on Vent now off game but no voice comes out.. green light comes on... I can hear just fine anytimewell except for when Im pulling the hair outta me head and Im screaming, or that loud bang that emits when I hit my head on the table over and over again...
I have windows 7- 64bit, logitech clear chat headset, NOT USB, not muted any wheres I can see, wires are plugged in to right sockets... I called up logitech they say since it is working when not in game it's not our problem, I call up EA they say that BC2 runs outta blah blah blah ports check them (yeah right) old man here!!! check with your Internet Provider I call them up they say check your router settings... Re: Ventrilo

your sound card is set to default output and input (microphone) device?
    same in ventrilo under settings?

maybe try changing your push-to-talk button.
