More Camera Projection TF2 Style, and a small Contest

Ok so I was messing around again with this technique of making 2d images into 3d. I found some really good screen shots that I thought would turn out pretty good.
It's not "perfect", and I could have done a "better" job at it. But you can "see" what I'm talking about. BTW, there is something "wrong" with the movie, something "inbetween". I will do a sig for the first person to PM (private msg) with the "correct" answer as to what is "wrong", granted that you don't already have an awsome sig. Grammer is key here.

So check it out. And enjoy.

That's a really cool effect - for some reason it looks best on the last one where there are two figures (the scout and the heavy).

Yeah, very cool. Reminds me of Marvel's earlier Digital Comics, I stopped reading them after they starting changing to subscription based, so I don't know if they still look like that.

Yeah is usually looks better when there are 2 or more objects to manipulate.

Basically you take the picture, use Photoshop to cut out the objects you want to manipulate, and then recreate what's behind them. This takes alot of guess work, but if done correctly, you DON'T have to replace everything, just right around where you cut out. Everything you cut out you tell photoshop to make it a new layer. Save it, then open the file in After Effects. AE will recognize all the layers. You make each of those layers a 3D object, add a camera, and then manipulate the objects in Z space ( spacing from the object and the camera). Then animate the camera and presto!!!

TL;DR? Check this link out for EXACTLY how to do it (click the watch button)

Yeah I just noticed that. The one mistake was on purpose for this, the scouts feet weren't. It's funny because it's not like this on the raw file that I uploaded to youtube. Only on youtube is it like that. Ofcoarse youtube messed up the first one I did, so go figure.

Well, you are correct Disco, that is what the problem was. I was wanting people interested in a new sig to pm with the answer. I was going to go with the first person to respond via PM as the winner, but our young whiper snapper forum whore Mr. Hell responded in less than 5 minutes of me posting this, so I let the contest run a while, and everyone who did pm me will get a new sig. Those people are..........

    Crae
    Panda
    Echo136
    Voudoun
    Supanoodle
    Mister Hell

Please PM me what class from TF2 you would like in your sig. I will PM each person individually with the same request.

I like Stereoscopic images. A picture is taken of a can for example, then you take another picture about an inch or two to the left or right. Then you look at the pictures side by side and cross your eyes, until you see a "third image" in the middle. If you then focus on that third image, you will see the image in 3D! The can will appear to jump out at you.
