    Angry Gatorade = Sore Throat?

It seems that every time I drink a bottle of Gatorade within the same couple of days I end up with a nasty sore throat. I was pretty thirsty yesterday and all I had was a bottle of the orange flavor so I gulped it down. Guess what today I woke up and my mouth was completely dry. I looked this up on google and came across someone else who it happens to and believes it's the sugar levels...

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Ya I like G2.

When God gives you lemons, you had better use them for the purpose in which God intended. Because if you don't, you will be fined, stoned, sacked and excommunicated by your local religious affiliation accordingly.

Sounds interesting. Never happened to me but any sugary drink has the potential to cause various oral problems. Is it possible that you are not refrigerating them or are drinking them after they have been allowed to sit? in which case bacterial growth could be expected. Also, too much sugar coating any surface on the mouth promotes streptococcus or other bacterial issues which can cause canker sores or sore throats. I would make sure you are drinking fresh gatorade and you refrigerate it after opening. You should see if brushing your teeth and cleaning your mouth soon afterward helps. If it's too much of a problem you should avoid drinks that are high in the sugars and go with more natural juices or drinks. Some people are just more sensitive than others.

My throat occasionally gets scratchy from drinking gatorade and i hate it. I don't drink any soda (except maybe once every so months or in mix drink). I don't drink other sugary drinks either unless substantially watering it down.

Try watering down your gatorades before drinking, it's actually made with too high of sugar concentration. Even Rain is too sweet for me. I usually do 60gatorade-40water. EMT gives watered down gatorade for dehydration, i think at a 50-50 ratio (not sure on the ratio).

Ever wonder what gatorade tastes like without all that sugar in it? try pedialyte!

The only time I ever drink gatorade is when I dilute the crap out of it with water.

I have to drink it double strength here in the summertime if I work outdoors I lose so much electrolytes. Otherwise I get real bad cramps.

I buy between 20-30 bottles of gatorade a week for my workers in the summertime. Cemetery work in any kind of heat is bad enough without cramping up.

Also a side affect of gatorade, ladies listen up, my wife informed me that it makes the moneyshot taste much better during oral. She described it as "fruity"

Yeah any kind of sugary drink or fruitjuice will do that. While (caution) meats, vegetables, and fats will have the opposite effect
