Game Information: Fallout 3 is an Action Role-Playing Game. Fallout 3 takes place in the year 2277 which is 36 years after the events of Fallout 2. In Fallout 3 you play as a Vault 101 colonist who is meant to repopulate the world. Outside of Vault 101 the world has been devastated by Nuclear Wars (200 years before Fallout 3) and because of this various "Monsters" known as Super Mutants run ramped throughout America. The game basically is a Post-Apocalyptic Survival Game where your fighting other humans and Super Mutants to stay alive and figure out the secrets that await in the Universe.
Gameplay: You play either in First-Person or Third-Person view, most of the gameplay involves guns but there are also melee weapons and various explosives. A new system known as "VATS" (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System) is also introduced into Fallout as an automated way to make precise shots against enemies or friendly NPCs. There are also parts in the game where you can receive a pet dog based on some decisions but I'll let you find those out for yourself.
You do not need to use VAT's but it makes the game much easier and in my opinion nothing is better then blowing off things heads. The game itself is huge, there are hundreds if not thousands of places to explore, various types of landscapes are evident in Fallout 3, most of it feeling like a "Wasteland" or something that has been ravaged by years of war.
There is also a Karma System, Good Karma is received for doing Good things, while Bad Karma is received for doing Bad things, such as tipping cows Swiftor.
Multiplayer: There isn't any Multiplayer, but we are expected to receive a Level Editor / Quest maker which could result in "Other" players giving us creative Quests or Story Line upgrades.
Achievements: There are about one hundred or so achievements in Fallout 3, some of them are extremely easy, but some of them are also very challenging. This is where the game really shrines as certain achievements are only achievable by certain types of characters / aligned characters making it possible to replay the game and still unlock new things.
My Rating: 10 out of 10, this is by far the best game of 2008 in my opinion, we have all been waiting for Fallout 3 since Fallout 2 ended and we have finally received it. Fallout 3 is one of the best RPG's ever in my opinion and is a definite must have for any Serious or Casual gamer. I recently reached 150~155+ hours of Gameplay and still have things to do on my FIRST character.
