Heavy Overpowered?

I kinda think heavy is a little overpowered. I have found no downsides to a heavy besides the fact he walks very slow. He has 300 hp and has a minigun that can spray an entire group of people! I think it's just insane. I don't know, I haven't played heavy that much. Am i the only person who thinks this?

I disagree, heavies are pretty easy to take down if you know what you're doing, demomen can easily just sticky bomb them or even direct hit them with pipes. Sollys can rocket jump from above and then take them down with the 3 rockets and possibley a shotgun blast or 2. The fact that they move soo slowly while using the minigun makes them incredibly easy to headshot as either a sniper or in my case a spy with the ambassador. The only time I see heavies being useful is if you have someone who knows how to play effectively, usually though all I see are heavies that mindlessly run into a fight dying, screaming for a medic that they don't know how to defend or use productively.

The heavy is not really overpowered he can outperform other classes in certain situations, i have found that they are only weak when there is wide open spaces where soldiers,demos,snipers are able to do a fair chunk of damage, also if the heavy medic combo is being supported by your team they can do a good amount of damage(the heavy i play with we die to snipers spys or just outnumbered) . I play medic alot and if a heavy has half a brain and protects you it can take alot to bring the combo down

TF2 is pretty well balanced and always has been. People complain about this class or that class being OP, but it's usually just because whatever class they are complaining about is the counter to their favorite class. Even when facing your counter, smart play usually wins the day. Charging a heavy who is sitting in a corner with a dispenser or ammo spawn is obviously not a good idea. Heavies have ridiculous damage drop off at medium-long range, use that to your advantage.

People complain about this class or that class being OP, but it's usually just because whatever class they are complaining about is the counter to their favorite class.

Even more so than counters, I think skill level differences among players are the main cause of OP complaints.

It just so happens that the classes most efficient against heavies--spy and sniper--are relatively difficult to play. However, a good spy and/or sniper on a team can shut down heavy play.

Also, heavies tend to get a lot of heals because of their ability to absorb damage, and this makes them seem stronger than they really are. Any combat class with a pocket is exponentially more powerful than it would be alone.

Admittedly, I am OP as heavy. :P

No class is OP in this game. Most of the people who would argue *so and so class* is OP are the one's who get bested by a good player playing said class. I'm not saying you're one of these people obviously but if you run 9 google searches asking if each class is OP you'd get a ton of topics for each one and the uniform community consensus is "no" (excluding those posts which tell the OP that he's a n00b and needs to lrn2play lol)
