    Changes to Badwater

Seems Valve is finally redoing badwater and other maps, no more camping on glitch spots, nor jumping through the map.

One obvious question is: why has it taken so long? The sticky jumper was introduced over 2.5 years ago. The Wrangler was introduced 3 years ago. We've all known about these issues for ages. Surely some of these glitch/exploit points could have been resolved before now.

Hats bro, hats. I can't imagine how many people have quit playing because of the exploits found on some of these maps, especially on badwater.

    Re: Changes to Badwater

On top of the map updates they're trying to rebalance the items; for example buffing the Battalion's Backup and making the Dead Ringer less OP. I mean, if even someone like me can be good at spy, clearly the Dead Ringer needs to be fixed. :P They're also tweaking item sets. Lot of good changes on the horizon that hopefully will bring back some life to the game and maybe get old players to come back.

Yeah, after playing the maps today. It seems like some people are gonna be pissed. Can't jump from battlement to battlement on 2fort and cant jump from spawn to spawn on gold. Actually have to try to win now :P

You can still jump across on 2fort, I just tested it. Although you can't carry the intel with the stick jumper anymore (unless that's old). Also the charge and targe is now immune to afterburn? That's fucking retarded. No more pyro countering demo knight I guess.

Yeah, I noticed the Charge last night. You can blow them back, but now they get to keep coming at you with no damage to them.

The sticky jumper + intel carrying was fixed a few months ago, some guy posted on youtube how to easily capture on a map where you can just sticky jump in and out of a base. Valve saw it, changed the dynamics of the jumper after that.

    Re: Changes to Badwater

The new update has fucking ruined the game. No saharin spy set and the keep leaving the stuff that needs nerfing alone. Nerf the goddamn bazooka and fan and pyro. Glad to hear about the exploits being fixed though

    Re: Changes to Badwater

Beggar's Bazooka and Saharan Spy set were beyond overpowered. Set was removed and Beggar's was nerfed to an acceptable level.

And the FaN and pyro are overpowered in the same way that bread is water.
Only bad thing about the patch was overbuffing the Danger Shield for sniper.

Please don't even attempt to defend Saharan Spy. It, along with Machina (for pub servers) and Beggar's was just stupid and uncounterable.
