    Re: Rip

Good thing the higher ups listened to the everyday members who kept this shit populated. We ask for admins and help populating servers and what do we get? " we are in the process of getting new admins" that was an answer we got 7 months ago. We asked for a current admin list and over 75% of the "admins" hadnt played tf2 in over 5 months. I found more admins playing on other servers than our own. GG btw to the admins that piss off our regulars and people who come to visit our servers. Its funny when we have admins talking shit to new comers when only data and rud have the skill level to talk shit. The other admins don't and even if they did they shouldnt. Rud and data never talked down to new comers or visitors and thats why people actually respected them. We had skilled other groups come in and automatically the admins would get pissy because "my God we cant get shown up on our own servers, lets talk shit and make ourselves feel better." Rip indeed iO. 3 years ago people respected you. Now your a fucking joke because higher ups dont listen.

    Re: Rip

Also last time i checked, admins were supposed to come and help if another member needs help. When we were asking multiple admins to come get the fuck off gold/bad or even 2fort to come look into something and we have to ask 5-7 admins who are all on 1 server and none of them answer back thats pathetic.

    Re: Rip

So... what happened to iO? I dropped out of gaming for a while, started playing again a few months ago and everything has changed, so many great servers gone or always empty. Did everyone just move on? (other games, TF2 got old, life...) or did iO stop being a good place to play? Looking at this thread there's a few things that make me wonder, but given the dearth of visitors to the forum, this may just be an orphan question left for eternity...

    Re: Rip

It's tough to pin it down to any one reason, really. Could be a combination of TF2 just dying off, a lot of members' lives picking up (I know of quite a few that got married, started school, or started new jobs), and just a general lack of organization. Back in our hayday, we had events every so often, people were on the voice servers to hang out and shoot the breeze, and we just had fun.

Who knows if we can get back to those glory days? I'd love to see it happen, especially because I've always wanted to see iO LAN #2 happen. God, that LAN was so fun.

    Re: Rip

I always assisted when asked, people could of always friended me and I played a lot during the time, so definitely can't say lack of admin attention was the problem. (Didn't frequent 2fort often) but I would of been fine helping out there, our steam_ID and names were on the site.

However with TF2 servers empty or dead, think Dave caught that on the head, lives, disorganization, tf2 has also been going down hill spiralling out of control for a while now. Hats and MVM only stays interesting for so long. Kinda like beating a dead horse. TF3 should been released like 2 years ago.

    Re: Rip

Thanks for the info, after being away from TF2 for so long I was shocked to see the iO servers empty (guess I took it for granted that they'd always be around).
TF2 has certainly had a good long run and it's amazing it's still as strong as it is, but seeing iO empty was a bummer, I still see some of the old timers around and every once in a while still play on the iO servers when they're populated.

I'll always remember iO as one of the best communities, had a lot of fun and met some good folks.

    Re: Rip

    Thanks for the kind words.
It seems that TF2 isn'n really dead, you'll find some familiar faces on other TF2 / 2Fort servers (e.g. Source OP). These servers are brimmed mostly, but our TF2 servers are empty. The activities here show the same sad picture. It seems we'd a great community, but those days are over, unfortunately.
I hope, our Battlefield section has more fun.

P.S. But we think always positively, Hope dies last.

For how popular TF2 was, its only matter of time before it collapses in on itself. However, have to take some credit being our fault. I wouldn't count us out, just getting re-organizing, planning, seeing where things take us. Glad you have enjoyed our servers in the past Family is still here, just been busy

    Re: Rip

For me it was a combination of work full-time school and iO being dead. I only play one game (TF2) and it's been over a month since I've turned it on. It's been over a year since iO has been a decent force in the TF2 public server community. Occasionally you might find me on Taunt gamers 2fort server. No other game as had the social influence that TF2 has had. To that I bid adieu and hope to hear from you on Facebook (Kevin Osburn) just mention iO and I'll add you. This group served me well during a dark time in my life, and I want to thank everyone involved.
