1024 bit RSA Cracked, new Milestone
Amazing. 1024 bit algorithm cracked in ~100 hours by tweaking a power supply.

It is a design problem with hardware, not the algorithm.
But really, this isn't a practical real-world attack. It is easily done in a lab under controlled conditions, but in the practice, getting physical access to the target device and its facility's electrical system for 100 hours is usually infeasible.
Also, in the USA, the NIST has published a standard (FIPS 140-2) for cryptographic modules for use with future devices, and one of the levels includes protection against this attack. Let's hope manufacturers start following it.
